Merry Christmas!
I love this time of year! The music, decorations, family get togethers and of course, the presents. Given and received! Over two thousand years ago, we, mankind, received a gift that many generations had talked about, and many seers had predicted with excited anticipation. They looked toward the birth of a child that would herald in a time of immense joy and peace for all mankind. A birth that would usher in a spirit of love that would overshadow all of our differences and raise our consciousness enabling us to see our oneness! But so often, the gift remains unopened.
Each year, we gather together to celebrate this gift of love that heals, transforms and bring light into our world of challenges that seems impossible to bear. We share gifts with each other to show our love. We sing carols about the wonderment of Christmas and the spirit embodied in it. Newspapers and television showcase the many acts of kindness demonstrated during the season as we reach out to those less fortunate.
We Embody the Gift!
The truth of the matter is that we are the gift! The Christ child came to remind us our divine nature and power. The message He brought to us was how we were created in love to love! That this love was not just a feeling, but power to reignite the flame of love that had become dormant in our hearts because of fear, doubt, confusion. He came to awaken us from our spiritual slumber. Our spiritual amnesia. Each Christmas Season, we show that we have the power to choose to live in that awareness. When we reach out with the hands of love, we are amazed how quickly the smiles come to the faces of those we share with. We are also amazed how we are also lifted! God’s law of reciprocity works as He created it.
A Spiritual Gift that Produces Tangible Results!
We have this spiritual gift alive and active within us! Even during war, we find time to set aside a moment to bring joy and assistance to those that are strangers in countries we are strangers as well. During Christmas, we are able to suspend the bullets and shells to call a “truce” and share a meal, laughter and perhaps a ball game with individuals that only moments before, was the enemy.
Our Consciousness Level is the Demonstration of what Love Is!
Since, it is within us and since we have the ability to choose to apply this love one day out of 365 days, what prevents us from making a more deliberate effort to apply this 30 days out of the year. If 30, why not 90? Imagine a whole year of getting back in your life the good you give out. This joyful experience will not happen if we become busy again with living life. Just trying to survive. We allow our thoughts to return to our daily battles of this cause or that cause. Politics and its associated “I’m right and you’re wrong” attitudes. Thus, we just forget what love is!
