May The “Force” Be With You!
We, me, you and everybody else, were created in love to love by Love! What a thought! But what is this love? Song titles have said that “Love Hurts!’, “Love can be anything, but anything can’t be love!”. There is also a song that says, “I want to know what love is!”. So, what is this thing we call love? I believe love is the very energy of our being! It is the force that connects every component of our essence together. It can be our greatest motivator! I believe love is the reason we find ways to be an asset to others. Love will empower us to do extraordinary things in times of extreme difficulties! When we allow the essence of love deep within our very being to flow outwardly, we manifest the potential to become the St. Francis of Assisi or even the Christ! Love is the force that connects us to everyone and everything. In Chinese philosophy, this force is called “chi”. This is translated to mean “vital life force”. This “vital life force”, is vital to our overall health and wellbeing. Let’s look at the various components of this “force” that is with us always.
Love the “Force” Is… Correction!
I wasn’t very good at math in school. Unfortunately, my report card reflected that fact! My greatest nightmare was being asked to come to the blackboard and work the math problem provided by the teacher. The challenge I had was this idea that I lacked understanding of math principles. This mindset also justified my lack of discipline to do the work required to gain this knowledge. I wasn’t lazy just not interested. However, this attitude didn’t reveal itself until a series of events that caused me to miss several weeks of school. Prior to these events, I enjoyed math and I was quite proficient. So, if I was doing well in my math classes prior to these events, what changed? What did this life event expose in me? First, my thinking revealed a certain “victim” mentality. Victim thinking allows justifying mediocrity. I was so behind the others in the class, that it seemed difficult, if not impossible, to catch up. I didn’t want to put the effort into working to catch up even though the teacher was willing to work with me after class. In order to correct this dilemma, I needed to change the concept I held of myself. Victim thinking indicates a lack of healthy self-love. A false belief creates erroneous expectations. I believe we were created to live a life full of good stuff. That can’t happen when expecting bad stuff. Love, which is the foundation of our very essence, will correct this false belief which causes us to expect the next shoe to drop when I began to feel positive! This will not happen automatically, but you must desire and work to allow this correction in thinking to take place!
Love the “Force” Is… Healing!
Healing is more than just physical. It encompasses the whole of an individual. Emotional well-being/ mental health are also keys to our experiencing being whole or well balanced. In fact, doctors believe that our resilience or how quickly we recover from illnesses depend upon our attitudes or beliefs. Once, we began to correct our thinking, healing starts taking place within our soul. Our soul is the dwelling place for all our thinking or beliefs, experiences, and feelings connected to each experience we’ve had. Had you ever considered that your memories are always connected to an emotion? The love that corrects, now begins the slow process of healing these areas of our soul. It is not the remembering of the event that trips us up, but the memory of the pain associated with the event that continues to haunt us. It is here that the force of love can do its mighty work. Correction must bring about healing. Without this combination, we may have majored in getting the math problem correct, but the reason we didn’t get it correct in the first place is still operating in the background.
Love the “Force” Is… Restoration!
In the very depth of our soul is the memory of our divineness! However, as we experience life on this side of reality, we lose or forget that connection. Our experiences in our humanness, begins to obscure our memory of who we really are. Thus, we begin to identify ourselves based upon false narratives and information. We get locked into the pain of our experiences. We get further apart from the integral voice that provides the most accurate identification of our spiritual essence. We desire to reconnect. We just don’t know how. When we desire to move toward reconnecting, the powerful force within helps to correct and heal these erroneous beliefs. Once we have been corrected in our beliefs, healed in our perceptions and restored, this wonderful source of love restores us to our original spiritual relationship. We are spiritual beings having a human experience. Not the other way around.
Love the “Force” Is… Protection!
When we think of protection, we have images of police and the military or a muscular bodyguard. We may even conjure up in our imagination a horde of individuals like the Secret Service. When thinking of spiritual matters, we might see angels coming to our rescue.
When we desire to move toward reconnecting, the powerful force within helps to correct and heal these erroneous Beliefs. Once we have been corrected in our beliefs, healed in our perceptions and restored in the knowledge of our “oneness”, this wonderful source of love builds within us the power to resist any thought that would cause us to move away from the connection to our true identity.
